Laban Movement Analysis, Bartnieff Fundamentals and Movement Notation

Date: 10-11th Sept, 2016

Venue: S-17, Khirki Extension, Malviya Nagar, New Delhi

Laban’s approach emphasises on understanding body, movement and space along with their deep interconnections.

Focusing on both, macro movements, such as those involving the entire body and micro, subtle movements like breathing in this session we would be observing movements as they occur in their natural habitat. Once the eye is trained to catch movement specifics, inferring from body language becomes clearer and more valid. This also contributes to self-awareness of each mover.
The session will also discover various spatial forms that a body moves in, and how the body-in-motion projects itself in space. This understanding enhances the movement potential as well as presents glimpses of movement inclinations linking it to attitudinal choices and personality indicators.
