REGISTRATIONS FOR THE WORKSHOP ARE CLOSED
DIE is the Art & Science of teaching creative movement to children in schools. It includes theories, concepts & process of integrating dance into educational settings. Dance promotes physical fitness, enriches creativity and enhances expression in children. The sessions offer a space for children to enhance their confidence and social skills while learning academic subjects through dance.


The workshop offers:  
Theory:
Definition, principles, scope and objective of dance pedagogy
Innovative methods and techniques of teaching dance
Providing variety and contrast in movement experiences
Evaluating teaching and learning skills
Designing a dance curriculum

Practical:
Creative movement activities & games
Creation of dance studies linked to subjects like Math, Science, Language etc
Customizing dance for different age groups
Enhancing facilitation skills
Educational Dance Choreography
The workshop is open to Teachers, Special Educators, Group leaders & Artists working with children.
Bio-profile of the Facilitator:

Tripura Kashyap is a Movement Therapist / Dance Educator & Choreographer. She studied Dance therapy in Wisconsin, USA and obtained her M.A. in Psychology. Tripura received fellowships from the Ashoka International Foundation and Indian Ministry of Culture for her innovative work in dance therapy and contemporary dance. Tripura also worked as a projects coordinator for Bhoomika dance Company (Delhi) and creative consultant for ‘Dance-in-Education’ program at Attakkalari Center  (Bangalore). She conceived certificate courses in Movement therapy is on the faculty of expressive arts therapies courses in Delhi, Bangalore & Pune. She is co-founder of ‘Creative movement therapy association of India’ (CMTAI), based in Delhi / Bangalore.
